Panagiotis Papantoniou PhD Thesis awarded European Friedrich List Prize, 2016

Panagiotis Papantoniou, PhD Research Associate at the Department of Transportation Planning and Engineering in the School of Civil Engineering NTUA, has been awarded with the “European Friedrich-List-Prize, 2016” in transport by the  European Platform of Transport Sciences EPTS and the Young Forum of European Transport Sciences (YFE) for his PhD Dissertation titled: Risk factors, driver behaviour and accident probability. The case of distracted driving.

Dimitris Tsamboulas Memorial, December 2015

More than 200 colleagues and friends attended the Dimitris Tsamboulas (1950-2014) Memorial organised by NTUA Department of Transportation Planning and Engineering (DTPE) on Thursday 17 December 2015 at the NTUA Civil Engineering School Auditorium.  During the Memorial Event it was announced that one classroom at the NTUA DTPE was named Dimitris Tsamboulas  and that an award Dimitris Tsamboulas will be granted every two years by NTUA DTPE and the Hellenic Institute of Transportation Engineers for the best student Diploma Thesis (first award was granted last November).

Professor John Golias appointed Minister at the new transitional Government of Greece, August 2015

Professor John Golias was appointed Minister for Reconstruction of Production Environment and Energy at the new transitional Government of Greece. It is the first time that a Transportation Engineer as well as a Faculty Member of the NTUA Department of Transportation Planning is appointed Minister at the Greek Government.
