Vassilios Matragos is Civil-Transportation Engineer, research assistant at the Department of Transportation Planning and Engineering at the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens. He is pursuing his Doctoral Thesis, entitled: “Investigation of Critical Parameters in Geometric Road Design, regarding the Vehicle-Infrastructure System (V2I)” under the supervision of Dr. Stergios Mavromatis.

The other members of the Advisory Committee of the Doctoral Thesis are:  Dr. George Yannis (Professor, NTUA) and Dr. Andreas Loizos (Professor, NTUA).
He is also teaching assistant in the graduate courses “Geometric Design of Roads” and “Special Topics of Road Geometric Design”.

In January 2019 he published a scientific paper in Transportation Research Record (TRR): Journal of the Transportation Research Board, entitled: “Skew Superelevation Edge Rounding Design Improving Riding Comfort on Freeways” in collaboration with Konstantinos Apostoleris, Ioannis Houpas and Dr. Basil Psarianos (Professor, NTUA).
