Antonios F. Lentzakis

Dr. Antonios F. Lentzakis is a Senior Researcher at the Railways and Transport Laboratory of the School of Civil Engineering, National Technical University of Athens. He has extensive experience in intelligent transportation, vehicle routing for flexible transport services, and dynamic congestion pricing.

His research interests include Game Theory and Mechanism Design, Bayesian Optimization, Kalman Filters, Optimal Control, Multilevel Programming, Reinforcement Learning, Hierarchical Density-Based Clustering, Sparse Subspace Clustering, and Semantic Information Retrieval.

Dr. Lentzakis’s professional experience developed in Crete and Singapore, in both academia and the private sector. He has collaborated, among others, with the Vlaams Verkeerscentrum (Belgium), NXP Semiconductors, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, DataSpark Analytics, and Telkomsel. More specifically:

• He contributed to the development of a sustainable EV charging recommendation platform for private EV users and road-transport companies.
• He contributed to the development of driver-assignment and routing modules for the on-demand shared-mobility platform WeeDRIVE.
• He contributed to the development of a parking-spot availability forecasting model for all of Singapore.
• He contributed to improving a hierarchical demand-forecasting model for the telecommunications provider Telkomsel.
• He contributed to the extension and enhancement of DynaMIT2.0 developed at the MIT Intelligent Transportation Systems Laboratory.
• He developed the vehicle routing module for the NTU–NXP smart mobility research project.
• He developed a multi-class network transmission model to simulate a mixed population (autonomous and non-autonomous) of vehicles in an urban network.

Awards and Recognition

• 2012: Awarded the SINGA (Singapore International Graduate Award) scholarship for doctoral studies at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
• 2007: Placed 2nd in the international RoboCup 2007 competition (MSRS Simulation Challenge) with the Kouretes team of the Technical University of Crete.
