Technical Visit of Students to Athens International Airport, December 2025

On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, a technical visit was made to Athens International Airport (AIA) was conducted, in which 9th semester students of the Transportation Engineering Department of the School of Civil Engineering participated, as part of the educational activities of the Pavement Laboratory. The technical visit included an initial presentation at the offices of the Technical Directorate of AIA, followed by a tour of the airport premises. The students, who toured the aircraft movement areas, were introduced to practical issues regarding the current maintenance work along the runway. The students were accompanied by Professor Christina Plati (Director of the Laboratory) and Dr. Aggeliki Armeni.
