Profile

Charis Chalkiadakis is a PhD Researcher and Teaching Assistant at the Department of Transportation Planning and Engineering of the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He holds a diploma of Rural and Surveying Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, majored in Transportation Engineering. Before joining DSAIT, he was working as a Research Associate in the Hellenic Institute of Transport of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH-HIT). He has participated in European funded projects and prepared research proposals for both national and European calls. His research experience spans from transport networks’ resilience to intelligent transportation and Smart Mobility (Intelligent Transport Systems – Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems), and data analysis and Machine Learning applications on traffic data. In the course of his doctoral studies, he received a scholarship from the Program of Basic Research of the National Technical University of Athens (PEVE).
