Profile

Emmanouil (Manos) Kampitakis is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Transportation Planning and Engineering of the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Since 2015, he holds a diploma in Civil Engineering from NTUA, majoring in Transportation Engineering. He also holds three master’s degrees: one in Applied Mathematical Sciences with a specialization in Probability and Statistics from NTUA, another in Mathematical Modeling with a focus on mathematics of Data Science from NTUA, and a third in Algorithms, Logic, and Discrete Mathematics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (expected). He has worked as a Traffic Simulation Engineer, and he has been actively involved in European-funded projects and has contributed to research proposals for both national and EU calls. His research focuses on traffic flow theory and traffic control using reinforcement learning, with an emphasis on multimodal techniques and decentralized methods to enhance urban mobility in complex networks. Beyond academia, he has experience in programming (Python, R, MATLAB, C++) and data analysis, as well as expertise in transportation modeling software.
