Tribute to Matthew Karlaftis at TRB, January 2015

A special session of the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) was dedicated to the memory of Matthew Karlaftis (1969-2014), NTUA Professor, and his contribution to TRB and to transportation research and education.  This memorial took place on January 11th, 2015 in Washington, in the framework of the 94th TRB Annual Meeting.

Dr. Karlaftis was an accomplished scientist in the transportation community in Europe and the United States. He served on many TRB committees in transit, data, statistics, and artificial intelligence and was a role model to many young researchers. He left a lasting legacy of scholarship and professionalism.
