NTUA Participation in the Hellenic Air Force General Staff Seminar “HAF Infrastructure Development: Present and Future”, September 2026

Οn September 17, 2026, the Hellenic Air Force (HAF) held a seminar titled “HAF Infrastructure Development: Present and Future.” As part of the event, the HAF invited Dr. Andreas Loizos, Professor Emeritus at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), and Dr. Angeliki Armeni, Assistant Professor at NTUA, who presented key aspects of current developments and future prospects in the field of airport pavements and related materials, with particular emphasis on the durability, design, assessment, and maintenance of these transport infrastructures.

The Chief of the Hellenic Air Force (HAF) also placed particular emphasis on the contribution of technical expertise and the academic community to the development and upgrading of HAF infrastructure. In his opening address, he highlighted the need for the continuous enhancement of technical know-how and expertise and for further strengthening cooperation between the Hellenic Air Force and the academic community.
