Dr. Lily Elefteriadou received the Harland Bartholomew Award by the Co-chair of the ASCE – T&DI 2019 International Conference Prof. Andreas Loizos, July 2019

During the International Conference on Airfield & Highway Pavements 2019 that was held in Chicago (USA) on 21-24 July 2019, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Transportation & Development Institute (T&DI) awarded Dr. Lily Elefteriadou, Ph.D., M.ASCE with the prestigious Harland Bartholomew Award. She was awarded by the Co-chair of the Conference Andreas Loizos, Professor of NTUA, in the presence of Muhammad Amer, M. ASCE – Director, T&DI.

Dr. Lily Elefteriadou is the Director of the University of Florida Transportation Institute (UFTI), University of Florida. She has made significant contributions to transportation research and education through her publications, as well as teaching and service record. She is one of the world’s foremost experts in the field of traffic operations, traffic flow theory, and simulation. Her work has been extensively incorporated into one of the most important documents in her area of research, the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), which is used widely in the US and world-wide.
